If you're between 14 - 20 years old and are looking for work experience with children in an outdoor setting then Corylus Collective would love to hear from you!
Volunteering as part of our team offers great opportunities to gain valuable work and life experience. We are looking for young people with good interpersonal skills, who can take initiative and also follow instruction, have lots of energy and don't mind going the extra mile for younger children.
You might be looking for experience to complete a Duke of Edinburgh's Award or a Scouting Association Award or because you're keen to get experience beyond your school/college life. All of those options sound great to us!
All staff, including Volunteers, take part in briefings prior to the events with information about the logistics, activities, health and safety aspects. All staff and volunteers are fully insured and a DBS process will be undertaken if required.
Here's what Emily, aged 17yrs, had to say about her time with us!

"The forest school site was such a welcoming place with such lovely people who made the experience so much fun. Working with, not only the staff, but working with the children and seeing how happy being in nature made them was so rewarding and a feeling that is never forgotten. I have learned valuable skills over my work experience that will be crucial to apply to any job in the future, including, communicating, being creative, being confident and working in a team. Hannah has high expectations and worked us hard (!!) - but it was so rewarding. I would definitely recommend it."
Here's what Julia, aged 14yrs, had to say about her time with us!
"I was very nervous at first, but when I started everyone was very kind and welcoming. Very quickly, I became part of the team. The atmosphere was absolutely great! After working at the forest school site, I have learned important life skills like working in a team and responsibility. The activities which took place were amazing! Seeing children everyday enjoying the time spent gave me joy. I love how enthusiastic Hannah is about nature and her passion for Forest School. I couldn’t dream of a better work experience."
Send us an email telling us about yourself, any relevant experience and why you'd like to join us. Hannah will arrange to meet you for an initial chat.
Past volunteers may also be part of a chat/interview - they can tell you what it's really like! ;o)
